Google Pixel 3 XL Put Through to Pass Bend, Burn, and Scratch Tests

Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL were launched in New York this month. It is the companies latest flagship smartphone. The two handsets come with the top-end specifications. The two smartphones carry a classic design. The Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL has successfully passed a bunch of durability tests to help you determine its toughness. These come in the front of Scratch, burn, and bend tests.


Google has reported the presence of Gorilla Glass 5 in the Pixel 3 XL. The Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL scratch test shows the use of Mohs scale to examine the hardness of the front glass panel of the Pixel 3 XL. The scratches appear on the sixth level of Google Flagship’s surface., while some deeper signs appear at the seventh level. This is almost similar to the other flagships that usually resist scratches until the Moh level six of hardness. The reports found that there is a metal mesh that covers both the speaker grilles at the top and bottom to be pretty strong.

If we talk about more scratches, we would definitely thank the frosted glass layer. A great test was the scratches from toothpicks, that could get off easily. Also, the aluminium edges were covered in a plastic-like coating that could be scraped away with reasonable force. Talking about the burn test, the screen of the Google Pixel 3 XL withstood an open flame for about 30 seconds until the pixels became completely dead. However, they recovered soon after.

However, the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL scratch test has been passed successfully. Resultantly, there was no flex in the handset and the bend didn’t produce any cracks or kinks.
