Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ Facing Issues After Android Pie Update

Samsung Galaxy S9₹ 48,490 and Galaxy S9+₹ 52,900 owners are repetitively facing battery drain issues. The users are facing these issues after installing the recently released Android Pie update for these two phones. The two phones are apparently going down several battery percentage points in just a few seconds. Some of the users claimed that the battery performance has become worse after the update. It is still not clear, if this issue is in some particular areas or is being spread to wide number of users. Samsung had started rolling out this Pie update for its flagship models on last week.

User Reviews for Android Pie

According to the people at SamMobile, who first spotted the Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ Battery Drain issue, said that the smartphone lost the battery percentage within seconds. This was observed after the users updated the Android Pie update. “Battery life has been better on Android Pie than Oreo, if we talk in general. But to the surprise, I just saw my Galaxy S9+ go down from 10 percent battery to 5 percent in few seconds. This was observed without the phone reporting any app going haywire in the background,” wrote SamMobile’s offcial.

User Feedback to the Update

Some users had battery drain issue while other gave a mixed feedback to the user experience of Android Pie/ Whereas some of the usershad been claiming that their phone’s battery performance has actually become better after the update.

Isues with the Android Pie

The Galaxy S9 users reported some other issues too. Some of them were having problems using Bixby voice assistant after the Android Pie update. The Bixby 2.0 on Galaxy S9 phones apparently fails to understand many commands. Where as they all worked fine with Bixby 1.0.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphone started getting the Android Pie update on December 24. The update is over 1.7GB in size and it includes the upgraded One users interface. It even includes the updated core Pie features.
